Okanagan College
Since 1990 Okanagan College has provided thousands of international students with a high-quality, affordable study abroad experience in one of Canada's most scenic areas. The Southern interior of British Columbia is located 50 minutes east of Vancouver by air with frequent flights to Kelowna Airport. The region is famous for its beautiful scenery, dry summer and mild winters. In addition to students who enroll at Okanagan College on an individual basis, groups from several schools in Japan (e.g. Ritsumeikan University, Kyoto Tachibana University and Toyota Technical College (Nagoya)) have participated in annual study tour programs for many years. Approximately 15% of the College's international students are from Japan.

English as a Second Language (ESL) Programs
Kelowna Campus - English for Academic Purposes
four-month semesters beginning in January, May and September
six levels of ESL from Beginner to Advanced each level involves four months of study
new students take the College's English Language Assessment Test to determine their level of study
no TOEFL or other English test score is required for admission
focus on speaking, listening, reading and writing in preparation for academic study
advanced students may combine ESL and academic courses
upon completion of Level Six students may take a full-time academic program
Salmon Arm Campus - Intensive Professional and Academic ESL
a series of four-week sessions offered at the beginning of each month
students may enroll for any number of sessions
the focus is on grammar, pronunciation, listening, reading and writing skills
optional “next-generation TOEFL” and TOEIC preparation classes
Vernon Campus - Intensive English Communication Program
a series of four-week sessions to develop speaking, listening and pronunciation skills
a new four-week session is offered each month
students may enroll for any number of sessions
